Aaron Ostler's Birthday

Today, August 3rd, is Aaron Ostler's birthday. It was also fast and testimony meeting at church. His family has been in my home ward in Farmington for as long as we've lived there. Aaron was a 17 year old boy who died unexpectedly from an unknown heart condition about five months ago. http://http//www.legacy.com/DeseretNews/Obituaries.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonId=103960453

His father stood at the pulpit this morning in fast and testimony meeting and testified of the power of the gospel to create and seal eternal families. He told of how recently felt that Aaron was near and said, "Dad, I need the priesthood." His parents went to the temple yesterday to perform the necessary priesthood ordinances for him that were available.

The Ostler's have always been the most faithful people. They continue to insist that Heavenly Father is with them and has upheld them through all of this. I can't imagine the heartache of losing a child! I am so impressed by their steadfastness in the gospel despite their trials. Their hardship is not an isolated event, I know. I know that there are many, MANY, faithful people who have born burdens beyond my comprehension. So, today I want to pay tribute to all the people who remain faithful and strong and have an unfailing string of faith connecting them to Heavenly Father and our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, who makes eternal life and eternal families possible.

Today, his dad said, they will have a birthday celebration with all the family in honor of Aaron.

Cute Aaron. This still just breaks my heart. Isn't it interesting that those who are or have gone through the trials are often the ones lifting the rest of us up. Love the Ostlers. I bet that was a powerful meeting.
