These are the Western Illinois sport psychology people. On the left is Jessica, who has completed a masters degree in Sport Psychology and is now working on her second master's degree in Psychology (also at Western). On the far right is Risa, from Japan. She is in her second year (like me). Above Risa is Janell. This is her first year in the Sport Psychology graduate program. Dr. Finch is our professor. She is awesome!
On Thursday morning, while I was at the conference, I found out that my sister, Amy, had just given birth to her first little boy, my second nephew, Lincoln. He was about 3 weeks early and weighed only 5 lbs 15 oz. They say he sleeps a lot (sounds like a smart guy to me). Although I haven't met him in person yet, he is adorable. Here's the pics they have sent me.

In the mean time, my oldest nephew, Corbin, is becoming ever more active and adorable. Here's the lastest pic of him.

There's not a whole lot of exciting things going on with me these days. Trying to keep up with school is enough. One of these days I'm going to grace you all (the two people that consistently read my blog) with one of my papers I've written for school.
General Conference this weekend was amazing, as usual. Did everyone catch the great announcement they made on Saturday morning?!?! A temple in Philadelphia!!! I'm so excited about that. I never thought I'd see the day...
So now you know why I have kind of slipped out of the habit of journal writing. I've decided, though, that if I can prey on the lives of my family and friends for exciting information, it just might be worth it to write in a journal again...or I could just blog every once in a while.
Stay tuned for more exciting news...

I feel the same way about journals. Sometimes my day just isn't that exciting. Having Corbin though, I feel sometimes I have stuff to write. I should be better than I am at writing. I think it's great to hear what's going on with you-- I feel like we're closer even though we are many miles away. Thanks!
See, the beauty of having a blog is, that it's yours. And only yours. You get to write whenever and whatever you darn want to. At least that's what I love about it. I would love to read one of the papers you've written! I was going through papers and such yesterday and cam across The Mountain Goat Who Was Afraid of Heights. I still have it. You're an excellent writer and it still makes me smile! And congrats on the new nephew!
Loved Conference! I totally thought of you when they announced the temple in Philadelphia. :) Woooo-hooooo!
Can't wait to read your paper!
And...I feel exactly the same way about journaling. I used to write in my journal faithfully every day...that is until I moved up on campus to Carriage House #305. Oh well...I consider my blog a great journal. Plus you can transfer your whole blog over to blub.com and have it in book form when you're ready for that. Looooove it! :)
The journal writing thing, I was really good up until I got married. Then my whole routine was ruined! I still haven't adapted a new one, but blogging might be my new way. Nephews or your own children make great writing subjects they always provide a new way of looking at and experiencing the world. Sometimes not the way you'd want to see the world either, but you learn and adapt accordingly. :)
Lincoln is adorable!
