Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.

So consistent blogging is obviously not a strength of mine. I just downloaded this new blogger app for my iPhone so I can attempt to update my blog more frequently.
Having said that about a month ago I was talking with a friend whom I hadn't seen for some time and she said, "You need to update your blog more often!" I promised her I would and yet here I am weeks later finally taking the time to do it. I'm horrible! But nifty gadgets on my phone may be the cure...we'll see.
If I haven't seen you in the last two years, read this: I graduated from Western Illinois University with my master's degree in Sport Psychology in May 2009. It was awesome! I guess in my last blog post I wrote about not finding a job in my field. So, thank goodness for a Quiznos opportunity. I worked at my dad's stores in North Salt Lake and Kaysville for a year. I managed the Kaysville store for 6 months or so. I started applying for wilderness therapy jobs in April. I told my dad that he should start looking for a more permanent manager for the store so if I got a job he would have someone to take over. Then I got a call from a program in Huntington, Utah that wanted me to interview with them.
The phone interview went well so they invited me to go on a five day backpacking training. It didn't guarantee that I would have the job, but it was a way to see if the job and program were a good fit for me. So the first week of June I went on this training excursion. It was neat! We learned some cool skills (like how to make a fire with a bow drill set that we made ourselves) and I learned a lot about how the program worked. In the end they offered me the job and I didn't feel right about it. I told them I would be unable to accept the position.
In the meantime my dad had hired a new manager at Quiznos. I started working at the North Salt Lake store and have been there ever since.
I applied for teaching jobs all over and I interviewed a few times for jobs in the area, but nothing worked out.
That is my story. And here I am.
I'm going to be better at updating my blog on a regular basis.

An update! Yay! :) I hope things are going well... I have a special place in my heart for jobs in North Salt Lake! ;) Oh, and the offer's still on the table if you ever need an escape to watch the Lady Irish B-ball team. (In fact, I secretly pray that you'll take me up on it!) I sure miss chatting with you! Have a great week!
