Ode to Halloween Costumes

Halloween, for me, is no longer the spectacular holiday that it used to be when I was a little kid. I used to love getting all dressed up and going from house to house collecting my candy. I remember being a skeleton, the grim reaper, and, my personal favorite, a "beat up" soccer player. Two years ago as a teacher at Indian Hills Middle School, I dressed up again. I was an insane woman (which wasn't a super stretch from reality). I wore a large night gown and allowed my hair its freedom (for those of you who have not experienced that, count your blessings!). I carried around a little cooler and mumbled random things.
This Halloween a friend of mine from church decided to have a costume party last night. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a costume and I didn't have a lot of time to put something together. I was somewhat of a "Halloween Humbug." However, once I started putting my costume together the magic of Halloween as a child returned to me. I was excited!
Here are some of the pictures I took last night.
This is Megan, the hostess of the party.

This is Scott, Megan's boyfriend. He's not a member, but calls himself a "Mormon-in-training."
This is Brandon, from Malad, ID, dressed as Deron Williams. I told him his skin needed a little darkening.

Marlainna (above), a non-member, dressed as Sarah Palin.
John, (left) from Macomb. What is he? Good question.

This is Amanda (left), from Quad Cities area in IL.

To the right is Elizabeth, a non-member friend of ours.

This is Matt and Ruby Findley, from Utah. They are a couple from the ward here who are great fun!

So, you ask, what did you dress up as, Aubrey?

You can call me, Cling...Static Cling.

I love yours! What a great idea. I love Halloween parties. I always need a good excuse to dress up. I seriously love to dress up. Sadly, we are never invited unless we host them ourselves so I'm forced to play dress up with my boys for playtime. That works, too, though! Happy halloween Aubrey!
